Peace of mind on Holiday with your secure home

Planning a nice relaxing holiday, but worried about leaving your house unattended.

Many families avoid long holidays as they are too worried to leave their precious homes unattended for long periods of time. Having that constant worry that you will come home from a beautiful trip away with the family to find your house has been burgled, or receiving that dreaded text message telling you someone has broken in. Put your mind to rest with a few helpful tips to keep those pesky burglars away.

Simple but so commonly missed- Lock up, Double checking all entry points is essential before leaving your home. Making sure your exterior lights are in full working order as darkness is a burglar’s favourite environment. Having a radio on a time during the day could also help deter any unwanted visitors. Also Lamp timers can help on lookers see there is usual activity in your house, making them less likely to enter.

Black Handled Key on Key HoleLeave a spare set of keys with a trusted friend, and ask them to do regular check-ups on your home, and return the favour. Making sure to clear the letter box of a pile up of mail, as a build-up of letters is a clear way of letting on-lookers aware you are not home for a long period of time.

Simple favours from family and trusted friends, such as parking their cars or vehicles on your driveway, keeping activity looking as normal as possible will really help to scare off any unwanted visitors.

So don’t be afraid to book that dream holiday and have a break from everyday life with the peace of mind that your home will be safe and secure from burglars. By following these simple steps to reduce the risk of you home being broken into and increase your personal security.
