Eye scanners for added security
On May 14, 2016 by AndrewWe’ve all heard of fingerprint technology but a relatively new security method coming to the spotlight is eye scanning. Using a digital camera, it an eye scanner uses each noticeable and near infrared lighting to seize an apparent, high contrast image of a person’s iris. Once the information is recorded it can be saved, and when you’re rescanned you’ll be granted access. This isn’t exactly domestic technology or tech for small companies; it’s most likely to be the future at airports. A person’s iris is essentially their natural nametag. Even when wearing contacts or when losing sight over the years, an iris is liekly to remain unchanged, so it’s an innovative bit of kit that’s likely to be rolled out over the coming years in strict environments such as airports.
