Having a safe in your home can be a big bonus, especially if you have lots of small yet expensive items that need to be protected, such as jewelry, money, electronics or cherished family memorabilia. Where you place your safe is of the upmost importance, because as soon as a burglar finds it they’ll likely want to take it away and inspect it or break into it then and there. If your safe can be fixed to the structure of your building, like being built into the wall, which was very common back in the day, then it will be very difficult to take away, especially if it’s constructed of steel too. A good safe should be strong and durable and positioned somewhere burglars are unlikely to look, such as behind a picture frame or in a cupboard where the coats are kept. If it’s very heavy and constructed of solid metal, it’s likely your items will be very safe inside.
